Parking.
We should strive to minimize the amount and use of parking within the center and the surrounding property. Vehicles should use the existing parking lots for the hospital, the probation office and the adjoining medical offices. We should consider providing shuttle service for those unable to walk from the parking lots to the building and venues.

Disabled Access
I imagine that we will need to provide access for disable visitors. Currently, as far as we can tell from the plans and the outside view of the building which was originally built in 1931, there is no access other than up the stairs at the front entrance or from the ground level on the east end of the building through the kitchen. I assume that we could add an outside elevator to the building to provide disabled entrance. But I think a less expensive approach would be to create a ramp from the east side that would provide access to the upper level. Since the upper level is essentially at the same level as the east entrance, the ramp would not been to be other than level.

Roads:
The general theme of the property should be paths as opposed to roads. As much as possible, we should strive to limited full blown roads on the property. Yes, there will need to be access provided for accessibility of the disabled, but we should strive to limit those and find alternative ways to provide access. As mentioned above, perhaps a fleet of golf carts, some kind of people mover trailers like at the amusement parks, some creative solution that minimizes cars and trucks on the property.

Since one of the apparent needs of individual artists is to be able to show their work, in addition to shows, SLOCA should have a very dramatic presence on the internet. We should strive to promote local artists and groups. We should have a strong presence on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and our own website. Since we are trying to stimulate creativity and collaboration, our website should provide lots of images with a classification system that promotes visual visiting. We should try to replicate Google Images for our local artists. We should try to develop web access and apps that further the investigation of local art. Maybe we should provide a visual store front for all the local artists (a possible fund raising opportunity to fund the facility). We could offer lower commissions and focus on easily sellable prints in addition to original art for those art pieces for which that makes practical sense.
